Beautiful eyelashes of your dreams

Eyelashes

Would you like a natural, full curl to your lashes? Or are you after a dramatic, wide-eyed look? You want full, thick lashes even without mascara? But unfortunately, your lashes are thin and short? Not enough volume? An eyelash curler and layers of mascara aren't getting you anywhere either? Then we have the solution for you!

There are various ways to give nature a little helping hand: eyelash extensions or a lash perm for a beautiful, wide-eyed look. But what exactly are they?

A lash perm is like a perm for your eyelashes: it gives your natural lashes a beautiful curl, similar to an eyelash curler, but longer-lasting. But what if there just isn't enough lash volume? Then many people opt for eyelash extensions. However, we deliberately don't offer them at Skinthetics Cosmetics. Our focus is on the lash lift.

With eyelash extensions (often simply called lash extensions), synthetic lashes are glued onto your natural lashes. For a natural look, a single synthetic lash is glued onto each natural lash (1:1 technique). For a little more volume, the 2-3D technique is used, in which 2-3 synthetic lashes are glued onto each natural lash. Or finally, there's the 4-6D technique, which applies up to 6 artificial lashes per natural lash for expressive volume and a dramatic look.

There are many different kinds of lashes that differ in length, shape and thickness. Lash extensions also come in different curls (e.g., C curl, D curl or CC curl) and different lengths (8-14 mm). A lash stylist will advise you on this, and together you can create exactly the look you have in mind! Whether natural eye, open-eye effect, cat eye or doll eye, anything is possible.

By the way, gluing on the lashes is loving handiwork, which is why it takes up to two hours. The whole process is, of course, absolutely painless. However, since a special adhesive is used, you'll need to keep your eyes closed most of the time.

After the treatment, the freshly applied lashes must not come into contact with water for 48 hours. You'll also need to skip the swimming pool, steam room or sauna for two days after the treatment. Why is that? The adhesive has to dry completely, but moisture would make it harden. You'll also need to avoid touching and brushing the lashes at first.

After just two days, though, you can clean your lashes almost as usual. But be careful and treat the lashes gently: no pulling, no scrubbing and no unnecessary rubbing. Please don't use oil-based products for cleansing, as the lashes can't tolerate them. Be careful with mascara, too: ideally, the extended lashes shouldn't be coated with mascara at all, or only with a mascara specially designed for lash extensions. It's best not to use makeup remover wipes, as they often contain harsh cleansers that unnecessarily irritate the eye area. The lashes should be washed in the morning with lukewarm water. You can use a little baby shampoo for this, wiping in the direction the lashes grow without rubbing, and then brushing the lashes back into shape.

If a synthetic lash ever comes loose, please don't pull on it! Otherwise, you might end up pulling out your natural lash.

Unfortunately, synthetic lashes don't last indefinitely. Exactly how long they last can't be said across the board, as it depends entirely on your natural lashes. In general, however, the lashes last between three and five weeks. The synthetic lashes should be refilled as regularly as possible and ideally promptly. A refill every 2-4 weeks is recommended.

We look forward to seeing you! If you're not sure and would like to find out more, feel free to give us a call!
